CONTENT FILTERING
As Patash Pty. Ltd. provides Internet access to the public and also provide web services for our clients, we are required as of the 1st of January 2000 to provide information on how to obtain content filtering software that has been approved by the ABA and the Internet Industry Association. http://www.iia.net.au/ This software should be used to filter Internet content for children under the age of 18. Software of this type is designed to block access to Internet sites that are classified as "prohibited" by the Australian Broadcasting Authority. We would also like to make it clear that this filtering software may not block all Internet sites that are classified "prohibited", or may be offensive to our clients and/or their children. We recommend that children under the age of 15 should always be supervised by an adult when accessing the Internet. ANTI-SPAM FILTERING
Patash use a program call SpamAssassin to do site-wide Spam filtering. If SpamAssassin decides an email is Spam, it will tag the email in the header with {Spam?}. Choosing to tag email allows are clients to make there own choices on what to do with Spam by setting up a rule or rules in there email program to deal with incoming Spam messages.
ANTI-VIRUS SCANNING
Patash use a site-wide anti-virus scanning system for both inbound and outbound messages. We can not guarantee all viruses will be stopped, so for this reason we highly recommend all clients have an anti-virus program installed on there computer and to keep both the virus definitions file and program up to date.
